Very little it doesnt cover for me
I have clients and project managers who use the little click to start/stop timers and iIve tried several of them in the past and all failed miserably. if iI were able to start on a project and never get interupted by the phone or email, theyd probably work, but thats never the case.
What iI really like is that items can be tracked for multiple projects... but even better certain apps even list individual windows and iI can then add those up daily to make sure that iIm covering everything for one client or another, including drafting emails! for example, i use outlook for mac for my email, and each window gets tracked. at the end of the day, click on all the windows for a particular client and it adds up the time in the bottom of the window for me. no more guessing if iI spent two hours in email today, how much of it was client A, client B, etc...
Same things goes for sites I visit often for research or support... I catch them all in the same bucket, and then can click all the ones relevant to a certain project to add up that time for the day. great stuff.
The only thing it doesnt do is track within single-window apps for distinct channels, for example, in Slack. Since a few clients are tracking time I spend there too, I just leave one in the main window, and others within site-specific browser windows so that everyone has their own unique time tracked.
All in all, Timings tracks EVERYTHING I do and then lets me decide how to use the log. cant think of anything right now that would be changed in my view.
