Simple is Better

this tool is very useful for me as Im self-employed consultant. At the end of the day I need to split time tracking over differents projects. Its perfect, thats it !

JUST WHAT I NEED !

Simple, complete, fast, lightweight, this software is just what I needed to check my time on different projects and on different software. This is not my first attempt to find a time tracker but now I get one, Ill not leave… And developper is ready to help, even for silly question… So just go and buy this ,)

Great app !

At last, I found the app I wanted to have, after having tried and checked a dozen. It is very accurate, silent and helpful.

Wonderful App

I use it from the beginning and I regret only one thing : it’s not possible to save width and height of the main window ! When that will be possible, I will change my note to a five stars ! A french version will be great too !

Excelent!

This app is excelent, very stable, the interface is very easy to use and the app can track on very deep levels like browser tabs, adobes apps files and more. Its also offline, so your usage data is protected. :D I really like.

Fast, lightweight, genius!

Timing runs everytime I use my computer. It is very fast and doesn’t stess the battery. I use it since 2011 and it hasn’t crashed not a single time! It tracks every single file an application touches and I can see how long I worked at a single item. For example: I looked at the Photoshop Startscreen for 6h and 49min since 2011! It is the best tracking app I’ve ever used! And for the Authors: Yes I read every single release note! :D

Thanks for the raw export!

I was asking for this a while ago and here it is! RAW export, so the data you produce in timing can be used in other ways. Super helpful. Thanks a lot!

Great to keep track of hours worked on different projects

I have this app running all the time to keep track of my hours worked on different projects. Perfect!

Simple and easy to use

And doesn’t track all your activity on a server. Everything’s local! <3

Attractive, easy to use

This isnt a professional-level time tracking and billing application, but is great for tracking your time spent on various projects. It is easy to associate entire applications to a project, or particular documents within an application (or webpages). One feature I would like to see is tracking offline time.

Great App

I love it- it does exactly what I want it to do. It meaningfully tracks my activities on the computer (application, file, time spent) and reports against them. It allows configuration of how you group certain applications and items. It only took 2 minutes to setup. Its not distracting me with endless tweaking or frivolous features. It has excellent built-in help. And as far as I can tell it doesnt use a lot of system resources (memory ~70MB, cpu according to Activity Monitor)- less than most apps you probably run already such as Calendar, Mail, Dropbox, Evernote, etc. Highly recommended.

Invaluable App

Easy to use and well thought-out, this app is an excellent log of my daily activities. At a glance I can tell how much time I spent on various websites or working on my files. It has good granularity for item tracking such as by folder (my projects use all files within a subfolder, so this works great), file, app, etc. It doesnt have any advanced features past tracking time spent, and $10 seems a bit steep for such a small utility app, but overall it does an invaluable job and I am happy with my purchase!

Right blend of functionality and ease for me

The app makes it quick and simple for me to evaluate where I’m actually spending my time, and it does it effectively by striking the right blend of features and ease of use - it’s customizable, but also easy to get good results out of without spending a lot of time tweaking it. The app is impressively low on resource utilization - I have no issues or concerns letting it chug away in the background. I consider it very good value for the price.

Excellent app

Really helps me monitor where my time has gone — keeps me honest about procrastination!! I also use lots of different software, including some very processor-intensive audio tools, and this ‘plays nice’ with everything.

Input and treatment good, output not so good

It tracks time in exactly the manner I need it to; how much time I use spend in each application, document etc. Unfortunately the simplicity doesn’t carry over to producing usable reports. There’s little guidance, no instructions as to what to do with a comma separated values (.csv, I had to look it up) file to make it usable in creating a narrative report. I admit I should have tested the reporting function before I let it collect data for eight months, but…

Productivity

This app is great for measuring your productivy and trying to increase it. I’m a student so I keep track of how much time i spend on readings and work, and how much time i waste on internet browsing. Five stars. Extremely satisfied.

Great :)

Great app! I use it to help me bill my clients. 1.7 allows a vital by-hour view; previously you could only get this info by API. Features Id like to see: 1) Tracking of by both title and tracking by URL - you have to choose one or the other, but neither is solely sufficient. 2) Ability to state a URL was for project A in one time period yet for project B (or unassigned) for a different time period. Martin. *Notes still true about v 1.4* New version has project roll-up, so you can have projects-of-projects. Very handy! The author has done a ton of work in 1.4 to incorporate some of the features I’ve requested, and AppleScript + JSON integration opens a pathway for an end user to add any specifics of what only you want. *Notes still true about Previous Review* (1.3.3 - Dec 12) Ive used the Lite version for the last year or so, and just upgraded today. It can really help you figure out the time wasters (Facebook), and - if you bill your time - gives you a rough check of how you record your time vs where it is really spent. Itd also be nice to put quotas on certain activities per day. (Yes, you, Facebook)

Lots of promise, still lots of room for improvement.

First of all, the overall concept for this app is incredible; automatic time sorting… genius. I have tried to return to this app repeatedly as I think it shows great promise, but I continue to find the littlest of quirks the most frustrating. So I try to give the app a shot every time there’s an update… I’ve been using it since it launched. However, it should be important to note that users still can’t sort time spent in an application listed as “Between x time and y time…” - this can be, depending on which apps you use, A LOT of the logged time. What this means for potential users is they can’t sort these time blocks into projects, even if they know exactly how that time was spent! You can even see a “Between …” time example in the dev’s above screenshot. This holds true for app like Blender, Slack, Mail and so many more. The app would take on a whole new level of usability if users could manually define time that the app can’t automatically sort. It’s fine that it can’t make the connection itself, but it would be so much more powerful if at least let me sort it into the appropriate category without commiting future un-sortable time to the same category. Also, I believe it’s a UI mis-step when you can drag most “time block" elements (and are encouraged to do so) but not others. The app provides no UI feedback in the later case. Finaly, and most frustratingly, the above issue is compounded by the dreaded “Untitled” issue - that is, for those who can work quickly enough, documents might stay untitled for some time before they’re named/saved and then become impossible to sort on their own, without the above issue. This app has so much promise, but these most glaring issues haven’t been tackled for a couple of years now. -2 stars, please fix! (I’d actually give it only 1 star for me, but there are many users who’s workflow would mean this app is perfect and should be considered.) Also, this app was about $10 when I bought it. I don’t believe it’s gained enough features to be over 3x the price - but again YMMV. Try the demo availble on the app developer’s website.

Wonderful App!

Definetely helps to find out where you are leaking time. Also perfect for professional usage while your tracaking time. Easy and customizable.

The best time tracking app

Just add some obvious features, like "Today" filter for dates. Consider goals in further updates please.
